Our team in Mosul, Iraq, has been helping civilians fleeing from ISIS-held areas. Over the weekend they heard of a large group of people pinned down by ISIS just 150 meters from safety. To escape meant a dash across open ground overwatched by heavy ISIS firepower. Our team could see that many had already been killed in the attempt but some were still alive. They prayed and God opened a way: with a US air smoke screen and an Iraqi tank for cover, the team ran in the shelter of the tank and rescued two people initially. The next day, they rescued seven more, despite having no tank. More than 70 lay dead all around these survivors – men, women, children, elderly, crippled – no one was spared.

We’ve shared some of the photos from these rescues, and of the people our team has met- both living and dead.

For more information about those rescues, the situation in Mosul, and for video, please check out the CNN story below which includes FBR photos and video footage.
