Human Rights Report: Dooplaya District, Southern Karen State: Burma Army Soldier Rapes two 20-year old girls on 15 January 2005.

On January 15, 2005, the Burma Army troop IB 275 column 2, led by Column Commander Colonel Pone Thint, raped the 20-year old daughters of villagers in their area (names of the parents are available) while they were sleeping in their field hut.

The daughters were ordered by the troops to collect leaves for the roof before daybreak. Soldier Htun Htun Naing met the girls by the hut and forced them to follow him somewhere. On the way, Htun Htun Naing raped both of them and on the morning of January 16, 2005 Htun Htun Naing let them go home.
