Rangers evacuate two civilians forced from their homes by Russian attacks. |
|
The Russian military increased attacks in Ukraine the night before Trump and Zelensky met. Rangers responded by documenting and praying with victims of one of the attacks and providing $15,000 of sensor gear to police responsible for communities within 11km of the frontlines.
On 17 Aug. in Sloviansk City, Donetsk Oblast, Rangers provided $15,000 of sensor and charging equipment to the Kramatorsk and Sloviansk Police departments. The gear helps to detect incoming drones and other threats, helping to protect the officers and civilians under their care. Rangers provided the equipment to aid the police who are the first responders to civilians under regular Russian attacks in their communities near the encroaching frontlines. The following day, the Russian military attacked a brick factory with a Shahed drone, killing one and wounding one civilian.
On 18 Aug. in Kharkiv City, Kharkiv Oblast, the Russian military attacked an apartment building with four Shahed drones, killing seven civilians and wounding 23, including a family whose apartment caught fire, killing the mother and severely burning the children. Rangers arrived the next day to pray with families, document the attack, and give relief funds. Both attacks were part of a country-wide increase in attacks, the most in a single night this August, to increase perceived Russian dominance and cause terror in the Ukrainian populace in order to increase political pressure before the meeting between Trump and Zelensky.
On 18 Aug. in a small settlement in vicinity of Mykolaivka Village, Donetsk Oblast, Rangers helped evacuate two civilians and their belongings from a village regularly struck by Russian attacks. |
