Rangers Provide Hope and Support to Displaced People

Rangers performed Good Life Club (GLC) programs for over 700 IDP children in Karen State this week. They also donated crucial food supplies and set up medical clinics to treat those displaced in northern and central Karen State.

Rangers conducted multiple GLC programs for over 500 children and set up medical clinics for thousands of villagers in Kler Lwe Htoo District.


In Ler Doh Township, Rangers facilitated GLC programs at schools for children in Taung K Village and Kgo Tu Kau Village, with 261 students and 21 teachers in attendance. The Rangers shared about FBR at these GLC programs, led the groups in singing and dancing, and distributed T-shirts to children. Afterwards, Rangers hosted medical clinics, with more than 3,011 people from five different villages attending. The next day, Rangers distributed rice to the same villagers. Later in the week, they conducted another GLC program in Da La Seik Village. 


A different Ranger team in Bu Tho Township conducted a GLC program in Mae Pree Village for 260 students, then set up a medical clinic for patients from the village.

CENTRAL KAREN STATE

Burma military attacked a village with airstrikes and artillery, killing two resistance soldiers and injuring four civilians. Rangers provided help, hope, and love to the villagers and treated patients both in IDP camps and on the frontline.


From May 21-31, in the vicinity of Kaw T’ree Township, Dooplaya District, 40mm grenades and artillery blasts hit resistance soldiers, killing two. On May 27, Rangers treated a Karen National Defence Organisation (KNDO) soldier on the frontline and transported him to a hospital. At 2100 hours, in Tha Mine Gone Village, another Ranger team treated a frontline soldier who suffered from a heart attack. Two Burma military jets attacked Kwee Lay Su Village on May 29, injuring four people. On May 28, in Thay Baw Poe Village, Ranger teams also treated two prisoners of war who had been captured by Burma military. The same day, Burma military from a camp in Thay Baw Bo shelled a nearby village, injuring two resistance soldiers. 


On May 29, in Hpar Bode Village, Kyondoe Township, Dooplaya District, Rangers conducted a GLC program for 199 IDPs from Kaw Wah Leh Village. During the program, Rangers shared the Gospel and gave stuffed toys, snacks, and shirts to the children. Rangers treated and supported the IDPs families with food and bags of rice.
