Answering The Call: A Thank You to Donors

Burma

Displaced Karenni children in Burma with food support delivered by Rangers.

Thank you, everyone, for all your prayers, love, and help. Every day, I am grateful and awestruck by those of you who choose to help. Here in Burma, there are air strikes, artillery strikes, ground attacks, and people being killed and wounded. In the middle of all this, there is also support and help from people like you all over the world and there are always people who are thankful for the help they get. One ethnic leader said, “Thank you for praying for us and helping us. And please thank people around the world who help us, even though they may not know who we are. This is an answer to our own prayers, and we thank God for their help.”

Recently, on a mission inside Burma, I was talking to a pro-democracy resistance leader, and he asked me when I was going to the United States next. I told him that I would be speaking at some churches in the US very soon, and hopefully meeting with some leaders in Washington, D.C. I asked him to pray for us as we shared the situation, that God would move people’s hearts to help. He said, “Please tell the Christians thank you so much, and I pray you meet people in government who listen to God, who are Christians. Because that’s the only ones who will listen to you.“ As you know, the situation in Burma is worse than ever before. Now, with a swell of Russian and Chinese military support, the killing has increased tremendously, and the tempo of airstrikes, drone use, and heavy weapons has gone up. We have lost 75 of our own team members killed and over 200 wounded, and that’s just a small representation of what’s going on all over Burma.

In the face of all that evil, the good news is that we have more teams and more motivated young men and women who want to serve in love to help their people. This year, we baptized 27 new believers from among our teams in Burma, and right now in training, we have many more who want to be baptized. And we have you, our friends, who pray and help us put good things in their hands to help others. Everything we do, we want to do in accordance with God’s will, and do it in Jesus’ name. We thank you for helping us do that. In Ukraine, where we were earlier this year, we saw an outpouring of faith, even in the midst of the brutal attacks. Every day, there were missiles, glide bombs, and drone strikes. Yet the people have not given up, and they keep pointing and turning to God. In Tajikistan, where we help Afghan refugees, many of the Afghans have decided to follow Jesus, oftentimes because it was Christians who helped them when they crossed the border and gave them love and met their needs. And then in Iraq and Syria, where ISIS is resurgent in some places and where the situation is very unstable, you have helped us rebuild churches, schools, and a hospital. Recently, on a mission to the Nuba mountains of Sudan, our team went to share God’s love through Jesus and give whatever material help we could. You help us bring tangible hope to people in need. In all of these areas, we remind people that they are not alone, and everything we give them is from friends around the world who care for them.

Thank you so much for your generous help and for your prayers – both are needed and appreciated. God’s provision through each of you makes it possible for us to fulfill the requests of our teams on the ground. Thanks to your support we have been able to supply our teams with medical supplies, ambulances, relief supplies, and training. These are ongoing needs. Once trained and supplied, our teams go to help and stand with displaced people; currently, there are four million newly displaced people in Burma. Through our teams and with your support, we are able to fulfill IDP requests for life-sustaining materials such as tarps for shelter, rice, and water purification systems. With your support, we have also been able to meet emotional and spiritual needs by supplying Good Life Club school kits and Bibles to people living in IDP camps, as well as helping to rebuild, or build new, churches and schools to replace those destroyed by Burma Army attacks. Reconstruction and returning home for many people in Burma involve explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) and there is a great need for EOD equipment to safely clear people’s homes and villages of landmines left by the Burma Army. You have helped us provide ongoing and advanced medical care for badly wounded patients who required evacuation to neighboring countries for more definitive care. All of this requires communication and reporting equipment for coordination and documentation. People’s lives continue to be saved and changed because of this chain of support that starts with the prayers and support of people like you. We are grateful.

The Eubank family, 2025.

Thank you so much to each of you. I pray for you often. I pray the Lord gives you all you need in your own lives. May God bless, protect, comfort, heal, and keep guiding you in Jesus’ name. Thank you so much for making this work possible, for answering the call and helping these people in need. Please let us know how we can pray for you.

Love,

Dave, family, and the Free Burma Rangers
