Dear friends,
Here are some books that we recommend on the situation in Burma. We're leading off with a book by our good friend and a former teammate, David Small. Dave served with us in many different capacities, including helping build up Ranger training and participating in missions across Burma. He also invested significant time and energy into developing our Rohingya team.
Dave’s new book, Nameless Faceless People: Ten Years with the Free Burma Rangers, shares his personal experiences and reflections as he served and grew with FBR. His goal is to give glory to God, honor FBR, and all those he worked with, and shed light on the people he served alongside. I was honored to write the foreword.
The book is now available to order from Amazon and other booksellers. If you desire a deeper understanding of how FBR functions in conflict zones, this book is for you.
Along with his book, David Small also wrote songs inspired by different chapters. One of the songs was recorded by my daughter, Sahale, and is featured on the soundtrack. You can find 'Nameless Faceless People' on Spotify and other streaming platforms.

If you would like to learn more about the founding of FBR as well as the details of our time serving the people of Mosul, you can order a copy of Do This for Love: Free Burma Rangers in the Battle of Mosul, a book that gives a clear picture of the heart behind the mission.

Another excellent resource is Conflict, Complexity and Climate Change: Emergent federal systems and resilience in post-coup Myanmar, a book by Ashley South now available for download. South, a member of our extended team, provides an excellent overview and explanation of the civil war within Burma and how the conflict has shaped the lives of millions.

Finally, we recommend either Burma: A Nation At The Crossroads or A Land Without Evil: Stopping the Genocide of Burma's Karen People.
Both are good explorations of the long history of oppression in Burma before the coup written by a long-time FBR friend, Benedict Rogers.
Thank you, and God bless you - and, David Small, we love you!
Dave, Karen, Sahale, Suu, Peter, and all of FBR
