Saw Yan Win

Dear friends,

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the death of Saw Yan Win, a 35 year old Karen Ranger and leader of the Thaton District team. He passed away due to complications from Hepatitis B and Tuberculosis on July 26, 2025. He completed Basic Ranger training in 2022 and served faithfully until his death. A devoted husband and a hardworking professional, he was always ready to support his team in their training and field work.

"Saw Yan Win was a family man first who returned home to his family as soon as the training was over. He always put his family first and inspired other Rangers to do the same.

He served as a Ranger so that he could better protect his family and help all those around his family and to help those in need. While he served as a Ranger leading manager relief missions, he also served on his local government council. He was a high capacity leader who’s loss hurts our hearts and the hearts of all he served. His loss is deeply felt, and his legacy of dedication and service will not be forgotten." - David Eubank

Thank you and God Bless you,

The Free Burma Rangers
